did you know… WI Portrait & Wedding Photography

Another “did you know” segment… quite frankly it seems a bit weird to have an entire post talking about what you may or may not know about me so I’m going to try to keep these segments short and to the point.. really who wants to know all about me anyway?  Ok so here’s a bit of info, I really like ellipses… (see!), ok I know I don’t always use them correctly, but sometimes I just feel that my thoughts are bit scattered and run-on sentences are annoying so why not bridge my thoughts together with a few little dots…

Did you also know that on rare occasions I’ve been known to photograph a wedding?  I know I tell people all the time, “nope, I don’t do weddings”, which in part is true.  I don’t advertise that I photograph weddings, honestly it’s rare I even collect payment for photographing a wedding, but occasionally it does happen.  I have several friends that are wedding photographers and I’ve been lucky enough to be a second photographer from time to time to help them out.  Being a second “shooter” is a blissful job, the pressure of making sure you capture every detail is off, you just get to sit back, capture events as you see them unfold and let someone else deal with the rest.  There are also those very rare occasions when I’ve been requested to photograph a wedding as the sole photographer.  Most recently this happened a little over a year ago.  A long time client (and now friend) of mine had a friend who’s daughter was getting married in Mexico.  I had photographed the brides sister for her senior portraits a few years prior and when they found themselves in need of a photographer for their wedding they called me.  A chance to travel to Mexico to photograph a wedding does not happen often so I put on my wedding photographer hat, packed my bags and off I went.  The bride and groom had an amazing (HOT!) day for their wedding.  We had a lot of fun and while I didn’t get to spend as much time with the bride and groom after the ceremony as I had hoped I still came away with some very fun and beautiful pictures.
